چکیده

Nanotubes composed of C60 molecules (C60NTs) were prepared at ambient pressure and temperature by liquidliquid interfacial precipitation (LLIP) method using pyridine and isopropyl alcohol (IPA) for the solvent of C60 powder. The pyridine solution saturated with C60 was (a) exposed to UV (302 nm) and visible (436 nm) light, (b) mixed with IPA at 1:10, 1:9, 1:8, and 1:7 (C60pyridine:IPA) ratios, and (c) grown at temperature settings of 15°C, 10°C, and 5°C. Results show that specimens irradiated under visible light have higher yield of nanotubes, higher reproducibility, and faster growth rate. C60NTs also form faster when prepared using 1:10 and 1:9 solvent ratios and incubated at 5°C temperature. Further, the diameter of C60NTs varies widely when prepared using higher ratio but is relatively smaller and more uniform in solutions with lower ratio.

Synthesis and characterization of fullerene nanowhiskers by liquid-liquid interfacial precipitation: influence of C60 solubility.

Fullerene nanowhiskers (FNWs) composed of C(60) fullerene molecules were prepared using the liquid-liquid interfacial precipitation (LLIP) method in the carbon-disulfide (CS(2)) and isopropyl alcohol (IPA) system. The electron microscopic images reveal the formation of non-tubular FNWs. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern studies indicate the presence of fcc crystalline structure and unusual tr...

Synthesis of fullerene nanowhiskers using the liquid–liquid interfacial precipitation method and their mechanical, electrical and superconducting properties

Fullerene nanowhiskers (FNWs) are thin crystalline fibers composed of fullerene molecules, including C60, C70, endohedral, or functionalized fullerenes. FNWs display n-type semiconducting behavior and are used in a diverse range of applications, including field-effect transistors, solar cells, chemical sensors, and photocatalysts. Alkali metal-doped C60 (fullerene) nanowhiskers (C60NWs) exhibit...

The Synthesis of Carbon Nano Tubes by Arc Discharge Method in Liquid media

In this investigation a simplified arc discharge apparatus was used to synthesize mullti-wall carbon nanotubes. Because of not requiring vacuum equipment, heat exchange system, active or inert gases, this method is found to be cheaper and simpler than traditional arc discharge in gas environment. Using this method, CNTs are produced by performing an arc discharge between two graphite electrodes...
